Transplanted to U.S. at age 12

I have a love and hate relationship with my history and culture. As an observer, I wish to record them. As a person who has experienced them, albeit distantly, I wish to put them in a box and never see them. The snippets of my culture and history are not chronologically ordered. They are just snippets shared in little pieces as that is how I heard them, in pieces, out of order, colored by other memories that have clouded them.
